| Kingman Mohave Lions Club is here to help
The Mohave Lions Club of Kingman aides families with school age childern who are in need of eye glasses. We assist with the cost of the eye doctor’s appointment and the eye glasses.
Picture this: A 13-year old young woman is moving from one foster care home to another. You work for the agency that is picking her up. She comes out to your car with three, disposable black trash bags. They carry all of her possessions. How do you think she feels? What if we could help her and others like her feel better? Do you think their self-esteem would go up a notch if they could carry their belongings in luggage rather than in trash bags. The Kingman Mohave Lions have teemed up wtih CASA to do just that. Consider donating your unneeded gentely used luggage to the From Lions Program. Drop luggage donations off at the Salvation Army or the Powerhouse Visitor Center.
We are pleased to announce scholarship funds are again available to 2012 high school graduates (or equivalent) who have lived within the boundaries of the Kingman Unified School District for at least the last year and are planning on furthering their formal education. Recipients may receive $500 to $750 toward the attendance of an accredited school of higher learning. Applications can be downloaded at right under the Downloads column. Completed applications must be received by the Lions Club Scholarship Chairperson no later than Friday, April 29, 2011. Congratulating Past Scholarship recipients:
