As bush fires reach historic levels of destruction in Australia, Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) is there during this time of need. Since November 2019, LCIF has awarded US$143,000 in grant funds. This funding purchased water tanks in District 201-N2 and provided immediate assistance to those affected in Districts 201-N1, 201-N2, 201-V3, and 201-V6. Additional LCIF grants are expected to be awarded in the coming weeks. To date, the bush fires claimed the lives of 25 people and burned more than 12 million acres of land. This destruction will have a devastating environmental impact for years to come. LCIF is working closely with Australian Lions to provide continued relief and support. ... Beyond her nursing experience, Barbara Merritt also has experience in management and hospice together with health and wellness coaching. Amongst other topics Barbara Merritt will also share how Medicare pays for many preventive services to keep you healthy. Preventive services can find health problems early, when treatment works best, and can keep you from getting certain diseases. You are entitled to a Medicare Wellness visit annually, at no charge, to identify these services and to have an active discussion about your health, wellness strategies and which screenings would be appropriate. The visits are informal, informative and allow enough time for discussion about your health related concerns. This is a way to get the most out of your Medicare benefits. See more View on facebook October 22, 2019 Kingman Mohave Lions Club We are a service club and for years many wished that we would be more hands one with our service. We have become very hands on with our vision screenings thanks to Lion Joyce and Lion Patty. We don’t want to loose our momentum and need members who have flexible weekday schedules (Mon-Thur) to help out with vision screenings. If you think that you could help out with screenings every so often, please let me or Lion Joyce know. It would be great if she could have a pool of members that she could reach out to when the need arises. She has several screenings she wants to schedule, but needs to know who may potentially be able to help out during a Mon-Thur weekday. Also, if you are a member of the community and would love to help us serve, we are always looking for quality members to help us. Come serve with us! ... See more View on facebook « ‹ 3 of 9 › »
